C0 (fluorine-free) water repellent
씨제로 발수 처리는 현재 유명 패션브랜드들에서
요구하는 조건이며, 발수 처리시 인체에 유해한
불소가 함유되지 않은 고난이도의 처리 공법입니다.
0 발수가공제의 당위성: 기존 발수가공제로 사용돼오던 C8타입 (탄소원자 8개 사슬 단위 구조의 고분자 물질) 과불소화 화합물 중에는 특히, 과불소화 옥타황산 (PFOS)이 면역 및 생식능력을 저하시키고 갑상선 질환 등의 원인 물질로 판명되어 2009년 스톡홀름 당사자 회의에서 국제 환경 유해 물질로 지정된바 있습니다.
현재 세계 주요 발수제 메이커들은 이러한 규제를 피하기 위해 기존 C8타입(탄소 8개)대신 C6(탄소 6개)타입의 물질로 바꾸고 불소계 친환경 제품을 개발해 판매하고 있습니다.
그러나 C6 타입도 여전히 안심할 수 없습니다.
국제 환경보호 단체 그린피스(Greenpeace)가 C6 타입의 불소화합물도 역시 C8타입과 유사한 구조를 가지고 있다는 보고서를 통해 아웃도어 제조용으로 사용되는 불소계 화합물로 인한 환경오염의 심각성을 밝히고, 다국적 의류제조 기업들에게 불소가 포함되지 않은 대체물질 사용을 강력히 촉구하고 있기 때문입니다.
현재까지 C6 발수 처리가 대세였으나 불소가 인체에 유해한 몇 년전 이슈 때문에 유명브랜드에서는 점진적으로 C0 발수 처리 원단을 요구하고 있고, 이에 대진에스앤티는 발빠르게 대응하고 있습니다.
