The reason Daejin S&T's vintage canvas is world-class
There are many reasons to say that the vintage canvas fabric produced by Daejin S&T is global.
Among the many reasons, the first that can be mentioned is that it is an eco-friendly and sustainable fabric made using rPET (100% recycled polyester).
The rPET product family has the same properties as the original polyester base fabric, such as high abrasion and durability. In particular, Daejin S&T's vintage canvas fabric is compatible with various thicknesses, embossing, color, and touch screen conductivity, so its use is very high. It is possible.
Taking advantage of these features of rPET fabric, Daejin S&T is producing Woven Canvas Fabric.
In particular, considering the features of the canvas fabric, the most suitable use is very useful for making canvas bags, shoes, sofas, aprons, etc. Moreover, the use of rPET is recognized internationally as a very valuable resource for the future with a value for sustainability. With such valuable rPET, Daejin S&T is producing vintage canvas, an eco-friendly fabric.
Fluorine-free canvas fabric, vintage canvas
The reason vintage canvas fabric is getting more attention is that it is non-toxic.
Daejin S&T is directly producing fabric by applying the domestic(South Korea) patented method in 2019, and the method applied here is the C0 water repellent method.
As a processing method to increase the water repellency of the fabric, C8 and C6 methods including toxicity are generally used. As the certificate below proves, it can be seen that the toxic component (fluorine) is not detected.
rPET (sustainable eco-friendly fabric) + C0 water repellent (eco-friendly method)
Vintage canvas is highly evaluated because it is non-toxic fabric by using an eco-friendly method along with the use of rPET. If you are making shoes, clothes, bags, stationery for children, etc. Vintage canvas fabric is very suitable.
If we look at it more broadly, vintage canvas can be seen as A FABRIC FOR US TODAY and AN ECO-FRIENDLY FABRIC FOR THE NEXT GENERATION.
Vintage canvas with excellent water repellency
As mentioned earlier, the vintage canvas is non-toxic with the C0 water repellent method applied to increase water repellency. So, it is safe for humans. Moreover, the water repellency is also quite excellent. The image below is the water repellency test result.
The meaning of 100 is "No sticking or wetting of the specimen face". it indicates that it does not stick to or wet the surface of the specimen. Personally, I have experimented to check the water repellency.
The following video is the video of soaking the cover of a book I made myself.
You can see the excellent water repellency through the video.
Vintage effect realized through patented differentiated processing
The original purpose of Daejin S&T to create vintage canvas fabric is for the vintage effect.
This is because the natural and excellent effects such as wrinkling, rubbing, and scratching can produce the old-fashioned but stylish look. The method applied to realize this vintage effect was made with the only patented method in Korea.
In order to create a vintage effect on canvas fabric, the effect is usually achieved by coating the fabric with paraffin or oil. However, Vintage Canvas fabric has a more excellent vintage effect than other canvas fabrics, and it is characterized by strong heat resistance. When heat is applied to regular canvas fabrics, oil or paraffin easily comes off, but vintage canvas does not.
It is a little more resistant to heat, so oil or paraffin doesn't come off well unless you force yourself to expose it to strong heat in the hope that it will come off.
What is even more unusual is that the crumpled vintage canvas is immediately restored to its original vintage canvas fabric when heated.
As we have seen so far, it has become clear that vintage canvas fabric is a sustainable and eco-friendly fabric.
When manufacturing fabrics, it is often referred to as eco-friendly fabric even if some processes are included in the overall process. For example, because rPET was used as a raw material, it is now called an eco-friendly fabric. However, I think that will gradually change in the future.
Like Daejin S&T, I believe that eco-friendly fabric can only be made by applying eco-friendly methods from raw materials to all processing.
Vintage Canvas Fabric is made using eco-friendly materials and processed with eco-friendly methods. It is perhaps the only and most complete eco-friendly sustainable fabric in Korea.
